Translational Diagnostics Advanced Training Grant

Sponsored by
Ventana

This grant provides funding up to $5,000 to support travel and living expenses during the training period. Awardees and/or their institutions should expect to cover any travel costs that exceed the amount awarded.

CAP Junior members explore how promising molecular pathology and oncology discoveries are translated into companion diagnostic assays as they gain understanding of the pathologist’s role in industry.

Under the direction of Ventana’s Chief Medical Officer, Eric E. Walk, MD, FCAP, recipients tailor their experience to explore R & D innovation, scientific and clinical affairs, digital pathology and whole slide imaging, platform and instrumentation development, and/or tissue sample management.

  • In addition to application process details, selection considers the candidate’s molecular pathology background and interest in molecular pathology.

  • Within 30 days of completing on-site training, recipients are required to submit a 500- to 700-word overview of the experience, a photo, and a short evaluation form.
