Grants and Awards

The CAP Foundation offers grants and awards ranging from $1,000 to $25,000 to support patient-centered work by pathologists and resident training and education.

Application Process
When applying for a CAP Foundation grant or award:

  1. All documents must be typed.
  2. Please include your curriculum vitae.
  3. The selection process will include a peer review by the CAP Foundation Grants Committee.

The committee will assess application and applicant merit, degree of innovation, and commitment to share key findings with colleagues.

Leadership Development Award

Travel to attend the fall Resident’s Forum meeting, the spring Resident’s Forum meeting or the annual CAP Policy Meeting to enhance education and experience on issues challenging the pathology specialty.

CAP Junior Members

Informatics Award

$1,000

Travel to attend informatics courses at CAP ’14 to gain exposure and understand impact on the specialty of pathology and patient care.

Translational Diagnostics: Advanced Training Elective

$5,000

Four-week, hands-on training, at the Tucson headquarters of Ventana Medical Systems, focused on developing novel histopathology assays

John H. Rippey Grant for Laboratory Quality Assurance

$5,000

Provides funding for innovative projects related to laboratory quality assurance, quality improvement in pathology or patient safety, resulting in improved patient care.
