Patient-centric, collaborative care models are redefining the way physicians interact with patients and driving a need to enhance patient communication across the health care spectrum.
To help pathologists meet a growing opportunity for direct patient contact, the CAP Foundation, in collaboration with the CAP Transformation Program Office, will host a unique skill-building exercise designed to simulate a pathologist/patient consultation.
These private, one-on-one encounters with trained, standardized patients offer a risk-free environment to enhance patient communication skills and explore potential ways to incorporate patient consults into your practice.
During a 30-minute session, you will talk with a specially trained, standardized “patient” to discuss the results of his/her breast and colon pathology report.
Immediately following the consult, the patient will provide specific feedback and suggestions you can use to improve patient consultations.
