College of American Pathologists

See, Test & Treat

The Foundation’s flagship program delivers pathologist-led free cervical and breast cancer screening to medically underserved women. The program is funded by donations to the CAP Foundation.

See, Test & Treat® Background

See, Test & Treat

See, Test & Treat® is led by CAP member pathologists and a team of volunteer physicians and healthcare professionals to provide patient-centered, collaborative care.

During a See, Test & Treat program, women receive a pelvic and breast exam, a Pap test with same-day results, a mammogram with same-day or prompt results and connection to follow-up care. On-site follow-up care may also be conducted.

Patients keep busy while they wait for their test results. See, Test & Treat’s culturally sensitive approach offers:

  • Interpretive services
  • Translated education to promote preventive screenings and healthy lifestyle
  • Pathologists to show women normal and abnormal cells through a
    dual-headed microscope
  • Financial and patient navigators to help patients plan for future healthcare needs
  • Nutritious meals and transportation
  • Adherence to current American Cancer Society cervical and breast cancer guidelines.

See, Test, & Treat Grant

CAP member pathologists partnering with hospitals and clinics to host a program may apply for grants up to $20,000 for each program site. Apply for a See, Test & Treat grant to ensure vulnerable patients have access to free cervical and breast cancer screening.
