Tumor or cancer registries find this text essential for coding the topography and morphology of the neoplasm. Published by the World Health Organization (WHO) in consultation with the CAP, the manual contains three sections for coding: coding guidelines for topography and morphology, numerical lists, and an alphabetical index. In addition, the morphology section of ICD-O is incorporated into the Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine (SNOMED) classification as the neoplasm section of the morphology field. For more information on SNOMED, visit www.capsts.org.

Partial Contents: Historical Background; Differences Between ICD-O and ICD-10; Summary of Principal Rules for Using ICD-O; Coding Guidelines and Numerical Lists for Topography and Morphology; Multiple Primary Neoplasms; Basis of Diagnosis; New and Deleted ICD-O Codes; New Morphology Terms and Synonyms; Terms that Changed from Tumor-Like Lesions to Neoplasms.
