CAP quality improvement manual

The new edition of the CAP Quality Improvement Manual in Anatomic Pathology is now available. The manual's cytopathology chapter has been expanded and contains comprehensive descriptions of gynecologic and nongynecologic quality assurance and improvement activities, including CLIA regulations and CAP inspection checklist contents.
This chapter is designed to help laboratories maintain a high-quality, comprehensive cytopathology quality improvement program. It contains updated sections on new information from Bethesda 2001 and interlaboratory comparison data derived from the CAP Pap program, CAP Surveys, and Q-Probes. New sections are included on new technologies and risk management issues in gynecologic cytopathology. A new comprehensive collection of tables is provided to assist in documenting QA monitors for gynecologic and nongynecologic cytopathology.
