Reports to: Education Committee
Charge: To recommend, coordinate,
and monitor CAP publications; to oversee publication and serve as the
editorial board of CAP TODAY; and to oversee the publishing aspects
of the Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. The contents
of the Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine are the
responsibility of the Archives editorial board.
Number of face-to-face meetings: 3
Length of each meeting: 1.5 days
Typical meeting days of the week: Saturday and Sunday
Location of meetings: Locations vary; one meeting is
always in Chicago
Number of conference calls: Up to

Hours of committee work required outside of
meetings:
Member: varies greatly by project/assignments
Vice Chair: varies greatly by project/assignment
Chair: varies greatly by project/assignment
Additional travel or time commitments:
Chair attends all council meetings
- Editorial consultation and suggestion for all CAP
publications
- Serve as the editorial board for CAP Today
- Individual members serve as department editors for
CAP Today
- Individual members write and create columns on
monthly deadlines
- Evaluates and recommends new CAP Press publications
- Serves as liaison/point-of-contact to authors/resource
committees
- Liaison relationship with Education Committee
- Editorial and/or publishing experience
- Previous service on a CAP scientific resource committee
is preferred
- Opportunity to help shape the editorial “face”
of CAP publications
- Members interact with and gain knowledge of other
CAP committees
