The College of American Pathologists (CAP) has launched Evalumetrics, a Web-based professional practice evaluation system that facilitates competency assessment of medical practitioners.
Demonstrate Excellence. Simplify Compliance.
Evalumetrics automates data collection and analysis for management of the Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) process and delivers reports that demonstrate the quality of a pathology practice. Loaded with metrics, this online tool allows internal benchmarking and quality management unlike other options available today. OPPE/FPPE monitoring of providers is required for institutions accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC).
Users can customize Evalumetrics to meet their needs by:
- Choosing metrics
- Entering providers for OPPE and FPPE monitoring for specific periods of time
- Assigning appropriate metrics for practice areas within their institution entering data on defined frequency intervals
- Generating user-defined reports
The system can include an unlimited number of metrics. The CAP chose to develop metrics based on the six core competency areas for medical practice, as defined by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and the American Board of Medical Specialties that are related to the practice of pathology.
