CAP Begins Monitoring of Proficiency Testing Performance of H. pylori Urease

In 2012 the CAP Accreditation Program will begin monitoring proficiency testing (PT) enrollment, participation and performance for laboratories performing H. pylori urease testing. Enrollment in the RUR Survey (or other CAP-accepted PT) will fulfill the requirement for PT. The CAP's Laboratory Accreditation Program will monitor RUR proficiency testing performance if your lab has one of the following activities on your menu:

  • 2720 or 2726 – H. pylori detection, urease, waived
  • 2725 or 2727 – H. pylori detection, urease, non-waived
  • 2728 – H. pylori detection, urease, waived, POCT
  • 2729 – H. pylori detection, urease, non-waived, POCT

If your laboratory no longer performs this testing, please update your activity menu. For any questions, please contact a PT Compliance representative at 800-323-4040 ext. 6052 or 847-832-7000 ext. 6052.

If you would like to order the RUR Survey, please call a Customer Contact Center representative at 800-323-4040, Option 1.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the CAP’s Laboratory Accreditation Program.
