Team leaders have been required since 2006 to be trained in inspection processes and techniques before leading an inspection. Beginning Dec. 31, 2007, team members who participate in an inspection are required to be trained as well.
Because of these requirements, the CAP has developed
varying modes of inspector training, all available at no cost to the inspector.
The requirement can be fulfilled via Internet with
the comprehensive online team leader or team member self-study.
The inspector training seminar for team leaders and
team members is a one-day, intensive live program.
Team leaders only can choose a live three-hour team
leader workshop, which includes a pre-reading assignment.
