Will laboratories receive a one-hour security notice to announce an on-site inspection?
The Laboratory Accreditation Program (LAP) will instruct team leaders to call and announce their intent to inspect one-hour prior to the arrival of the inspection team. The purpose of this announcement is to prepare the laboratory from a security standpoint. This new provision provides a security notice that enables a laboratory to confirm that the CAP has authorized the team coming to inspect them. The team leader will continue to present the announcement letter to administration at time of arrival.
