The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program
Widely recognized as the gold standard in laboratory accreditation, the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program uses a comprehensive approach to incorporate compliance assessment and process improvement as an ongoing collaboration between the CAP and your staff to promote optimal laboratory performance. The process employs a system of inter-laboratory reciprocity in which inspected laboratories review other similar institutions as part of the compliance process. You’ll find more information under the Accreditation and Laboratory Improvement tab on our website.
Competency Assessment Program
To help your laboratory meet CLIA regulations and fulfill laboratory accreditation requirements for competency assessment, this is the most convenient and comprehensive program that you can order for your laboratory. See the full story on the Competency Assessment web page.
The CAP course catalog offers a myriad of subjects, ranging from Anatomic Pathology to Practice Management to Inspection Team Leader courses. You can enroll online and complete most of the courses at your convenience. CAP also offers a large number of audio conferences. View our education offerings.
CAP 15189SM Program
CAP 15189 is a voluntary, non-regulated accreditation to the ISO 15189:2007 Standard. CAP 15189 accreditation focuses on creating a highly disciplined approach to continuously review laboratory processes to affect and maintain change. The CAP 15189 accreditation program complements other quality systems and does not replace the CAP CLIA-based Laboratory Accreditation Program.
