CAP-Accredited Laboratories Now Display Certification Mark

(Northfield, IL) The College of American Pathologists (CAP) announced it now is providing CAP-accredited laboratories with a certification mark they can display. This mark demonstrates that these laboratories provide quality care under the auspices of the CAP accreditation program requirements and is a symbol of excellence.

Accredited laboratories can access this mark through e-LAB SolutionsTM and can display this mark on their materials and in their accredited facilities.

Created to assist both domestic and international laboratories in demonstrating their achievements and commitment to quality patient care, this service mark can be used on all laboratory materials upon agreement with the terms of use.

CAP’s new certification mark, said Marcia Geotsalitis, vice president of laboratory accreditation is a “shorthand way to show patients, clinicians and the general public that the laboratory is CAP-accredited, upholding the gold standard in laboratory accreditation.”

“The CAP has a steadfast commitment to fostering the highest standards in laboratory medicine and patient care” said Jay F. Schamberg, MD, FCAP, Chair of the Council on Accreditation. “This is an easy and quick way to visually show patients, clinicians and the general public that the laboratory meets the highest level of accreditation and quality possible.”
