Kim A. Collins, MD, FCAP, a member of the CAP’s Member and Public Communications Committee, nominated Joseph E. Parisi, MD, FCAP, for his distinguished work as a skilled neuropathologist, and for his exceptional, compassionate care of patients. In his practice at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Parisi reaches well beyond the expected responsibilities of neuropathologist. His skills as a gifted communicator serve him well in collaborating with other members of the hospital’s patient care team to assure excellence in patient care.

Si Van Nguyen, MD, FCAPSi Van Nguyen, MD, FCAP
Alfred Lui, MD, FCAP, nominated Si Nguyen, MD, FCAP, for his significant contributions in promoting cervical cancer screening and prevention in Vietnamese American women. This population has an increased risk for cervical cancer – about four times higher than other women. As a representative of the Vietnamese American Medical Association, Dr. Nguyen worked with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to develop materials to educate Vietnamese women about the importance of regular Pap tests to screen for cervical cancer in its early, most treatable stage.
