Super Bowl Game Changer: Pathologists Team With Former NFL Player on Concussion Awareness and CTE
Former Chicago Bears linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer teams with pathologists to educate parents, coaches, and youth about preventing concussions that can lead to a debilitating brain disease, known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), later in life. As the Super Bowl kicks off, pathologists tackle major markets across America, including New York, Chicago, and San Francisco, to help prevent future cases of CTE. Stay tuned to your local television stations beginning January 31 through February 5 for news coverage. Read about activities of other members of the Spokespersons Network.
Stay tuned to your local television news stations, radio stations, blogs, and local papers to see if you spot a CAP member in the news starting January 31 and continuing through the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 5. Thank You to 46 New Spokespersons Network Graduates Who Recorded Radio Interviews
The newest graduates of the CAP Spokespersons Training Program recorded interviews about the importance of holiday blood donation, health screenings, cervical cancer/HPV screening, and CTE/concussion awareness. Holiday blood donations and health screenings included information on the CAP’s MyHealthTestReminder.org website. Cervical cancer/HPV awareness included information about MyBiopsy.org and MyHealthTestReminder.org. The interviews were recorded on December 3–5, 2011, during the CAP Spokespersons Training Program. Distribution of the holiday health screening interviews began December 19 to coincide with holiday travel and New Year’s Eve driving accidents. December 26 distributions of health screening rang in the New Year, and early January feedings of HPV and Cervical Cancer interviews coincided with January being national cervical cancer awareness month. On January 31, the CAP will distribute the CTE/concussion awareness radio interviews to coincide with Super Bowl.
