CAP@YourService – November/December
On September 21, 57 members of the CAP Extended Leadership Team (ELT) boarded a school bus and worked as a college of leaders to beautify the grounds at the Edgewater Schneider Senior Apartments in Chicago. The day marked the CAP’s second annual community service project identified and coordinated by Chicago Cares. CAP employees from Washington, DC, and Chicago took time to make the lives better for seniors in an assisted living home simply by their presence.
“One of the problems seniors face is loneliness. Simply having nearly 60 friendly faces for the day helping beautify the gardens, painting murals, and chatting with our residents is something that might seem like so little, yet it helps the elderly so much. One resident came and sat with CAP staff for over an hour, which really helped our resident have a special memory of this day,” shares Stacey Rago from Chicago Cares.
The outreach is a part of the CAP’s mission to look outwardly and give back to the community
