See, Test & Treat™ Gains National Media Attention
Photos taken from the See, Test & Treat programs in Minneapolis and Boston appeared in an Associated Press story on Pap test screening. The USA Today story “Doctors: Pap Smear Remains Best Test for Cervical Cancer” published on October 18, and it included a photo featuring Nora V. Laver, MD, FCAP, consulting with a See, Test & Treat patient through a Chinese language interpreter. The online version of USA Today reaches 14.1 million unique visitors per month.
The story also appeared in the Opelika-Auburn News the same day and featured a photo of Bradley M. Linzie, MD, FCAP, explaining a Pap test to a See, Test & Treat patient in Minneapolis. The newspaper’s website reaches more than 75,000 visitors.
Pathologists Help Raise Breast Cancer Awareness
Eleven letters to the editors submitted by members of the CAP Spokespersons Network were published during October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Congratulations to nine members of the CAP Spokespersons Network: Pamela S. Bullock, MD, FCAP; Kyle L. Eskue, MD, FCAP; Julie Katz Karp, MD, FCAP; Oleksandr Kryvenko, MD; Tim S. Spokespersons Network Members Deserve Recognition for Radio Interviews
Members of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) recorded interviews about the importance of early breast cancer detection, including information on the CAP’s MyBiopsy.org and
