CAP@Your Service – Residents Issue – Spring 2009
Tara N. Evans, MD, participated in a “live” radio interview with KTRS 550-AM, St. Louis, Missouri, to provide a H1N1 (swine flu) update on the NOON newscast. The interview is scheduled to be posted on the radio station’s Website. The College’s Public Affairs area proactively found this interview opportunity.
In addition, two members of CAP’s spokespersons network who are residents, Kyle L. Eskue, MD – Galveston, Texas and Jerad M. Gardner, MD – Houston, Texas submitted letters to the editors to their local newspapers. Eight members of the CAP’s Spokespersons Network in seven different states and major markets such as New York City, Boston, Omaha, and more, recorded hometown radio interviews offering swine flu prevention tips. A special thank you to: Thomas P. Buck, MD – Boston, Massachusetts; Tara N. Evans, MD - Missouri; Emily A. Green, MD – St. Louis, Missouri; Keagan H. Lee, MD – New York City, New York; Kyle D. Perry, MD – Omaha, Nebraska; Leo A. Niemeier, MD – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Rosemarie Rodriguez, MD – San Antonio, Texas, who recorded her interview in Spanish; and C. Leilani Valdes, MD – Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.
Great job Junior Members who serve on the CAP Spokespersons Network. You helped get the word out to the public about this hot topic. Thank you to all.
