CAP@Your Service – Residents Issue – Summer 2008

Calling all Junior Members! We need your expertise. Here’s an opportunity for you to receive a by-line, while providing the latest information on pathology to your clinical colleagues.

The College of American Pathologists NewsPath® Editorial Board invites you to write and submit an article to NewPath, an online series of scientific articles written by CAP residents. The by-lined articles are published on the College’s Web site and serve as a resource for pathologists and other clinicians to turn to for some of the most current information in the field of pathology.

Yan Shi, MD, PhD

“Writing an article for NewsPath provided me with the chance to hone my writing skills, as well as work closely with the chair of the CAP Immunohistochemistry Committee, who provided guidance to me,” said Yan Shi, MD, PhD, of Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York. “I enjoyed the process and learned tremendously for it.”

NewsPath articles are approximately 300-500 words and are available online in HTML, Microsoft, or PDF formats. Surgical pathology, cytopathology, molecular pathology and genetics, and laboratory management are just some of the pathology topics covered in the articles.

If you are interested in contributing an article to NewsPath, please contact the Public Affairs area. For more information about the submission process, please visit the College’s Web site for the NewsPath Submission Guidelines and List of Suggested NewsPath Topics. The College knows how important it is to be published and encourages you to take advantage of this opportunity to further the understanding of the important role pathologists play in patient care.
