90-09 Autopsy Report Adequacy
Objective: To evaluate the quality of autopsy reports by assessing factual information from the face sheet or narrative summary and from diagnoses listings. An additional objective is to assess national autopsy rates stratified by institutional demographics for the year 1989.

90-10 Complications of Phlebotomy
Objective: To study the complication rate of phlebotomy based on the number of needle sticks, size and frequency of hematomas, patient time required, and patient satisfaction.

90-12 Blood Culture Utilization
Objective: To evaluate the ordering practices for blood culture collections and to provide a means to monitor the quality of blood culture utilization. For laboratories that participated in the Blood Culture Utilization Q-Probe in 1989, this study will provide follow-up information and the opportunity to examine interval changes in blood culture practice. To gain a better understanding of indications for the use of blood cultures nationwide.
