Pathologists are medical doctors who specialize in the prevention, early detection, and diagnosis of cancer and other diseases. They examine tissues and fluids to diagnose disease in order to assist in making treatment decisions.

The College of American Pathologists is the world’s largest association comprised exclusively of pathologists. It serves and represents the interests of patients, pathologists, and the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine.
