![]()
This two-hour presentation will consider common and uncommon variants of cutaneous melanoma, including essential biological concepts that enter into clinical diagnosis and management. In addition, the course includes a discussion of benign melanocytic lesions that may be confused with melanoma, such as Spitz nevus, dysplastic (Clark’s) nevus, cellular blue nevus, genital nevus, nevus recurrens, and others. Finally, the course will undertake an evidence-based discussion of sentinel lymph node biopsies for melanoma, in the context of current biological knowledge of metastasis in general. Following this session, participants may complete a related online self-assessment module, available at cap.org through October 26, 2011.
