This short course will present an overview of recommendations for validating an immunohistochemical (IHC) assay in the clinical/diagnostic laboratory. The IHC Validation Work Group of the CAP Pathology and Laboratory Quality Center performed an extensive, systematic review of the literature applicable to validation methods and procedures, which led to these recommendations.
