The demands on the practicing pathologist continue to increase, and your ability to embrace technology, in the face of smaller biopsies and molecular testing, may determine your viability as a diagnostician. In many cases, the obstacle for pathologists in adopting new technologies resides in not knowing what currently is available or emerging that will supplement or supplant existing practice norms. Faculty will present multiple case vignettes across several disciplines, including melanoma and breast and colon cancers, to outline how pathologists can apply current and emerging technologies in solving problems they experience today and in the future. The course will cover specific applications from specimen sampling to pathology reporting that show great potential in improving efficiency and patient outcomes—not to mention make your colleagues at tumor board happy.
