Do you want to learn key points for adequate diagnosis of interstitial lung diseases? Do you want to avoid classifying the majority of open lung biopsies as “chronic interstitial fibrosis, NOS”? Do you want to develop logical approaches to interstitial lung diseases? If so, attend this session. This Video Microscopy Tutorial features a series of case presentations demonstrating challenging situations in the classification of interstitial lung diseases. You will receive practical tips on how to use the low power magnification pattern of disease to arrive at a histologic diagnosis. Faculty will present the concept of anatomic distribution of histologic changes and associated patterns of lung injury for the development of a differential diagnosis. Upon completion of the course, you should be able to integrate histology and clinical information in the classification of interstitial lung diseases.
