Message from the CAP President
Dear Colleagues:
If you can only attend one pathology event this year, choose CAP ’12 – THE Pathologists’ Meeting™!
Designed by pathologists and for pathologists, CAP ’12 offers you world-class learning taught by the experts, with a special emphasis on practical take-home-and-use education. We’ve designed CAP ’12 to exceed your expectations:
Superior Education and New Courses
We’ve got 105 courses to choose from, taught by 149 faculty experts. New this year, we’re featuring a special pulmonary pathology course track focusing on nonneoplastic lung disease, cytopathology of infectious lung disease, pulmonary adenocarcinoma, and other key areas.
Most importantly, attending CAP ’12 truly can make a difference in how you practice. Our surveys show a majority of past attendees have made specific (and positive) behavior changes as a result of attending a CAP annual meeting course. At CAP ’12, our focus is giving you actionable information you can take back to your practice and use immediately.
Thought-Provoking Speakers
As you’ve come to expect from the CAP, we’ve got a great lineup of speakers from the frontlines of medicine, including Drs. Philip Cagle and Marc Ladanyi for our Scientific Plenary, “Breakthroughs in Molecular Testing of Lung Cancer.” In addition, with only weeks to go before the 2012 presidential election, Scott Rasmussen, frequent BBC, CNBC and Fox News guest, will provide the latest insights into the most recent polls and the expected direction for the future of health care.
Unmatched Networking and Social Events
You’ve told us you want networking, and no one does it better than the CAP. CAP ’12 is the place to meet colleagues and network with other pathologists from across the US, Canada, and abroad. We’ve designed CAP ’12 around several key networking and social events, including receptions, a residents and new-in-practice lounge, and a guest hospitality lounge for those who may travel with you.
All Under One Roof
This year the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, California, rolls out its red carpet to welcome CAP ’12. The hotel’s location adjacent to the San Diego Bay and Seaport Village provides an ideal setting for our September meeting. The College’s priority to intentionally plan our meeting in one location—and under one roof—makes the CAP meeting unique. There are no concrete convention centers or long walks to other buildings. The “CAP ’12 experience” is convenient, welcoming, and easy to navigate; and it encourages increased networking and expanded social opportunities—one of the many attributes past attendees say we do exceptionally well.
With so many great reasons to attend CAP ’12, I am confident that we will exceed your expectations for a meeting that is truly like no other. I invite you to join your colleagues and me at CAP ’12 – THE Pathologists’ Meeting™.
Sincerely,
Stanley J. Robboy, MD, FCAP
CAP President
