Medical Knowledge Practice-Based Learning and Improvement Transformation

This course focuses on the role of molecular evaluation in the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic implications in the assessment of patients with hematolymphoid malignancies. Presenting a critical evaluation of techniques and the potential impact on patient care, faculty will share practical information regarding when to initiate testing and choice of assay and instrument platforms. Discussion will include the technical performance of these assays, interpretations of results, and application of these tests to patient care. Lastly, faculty will address the impact of new technologic platforms, including aCGH and next-generation sequencing on molecular diagnostics.
