NEW  AP124  At LAST! Standardization of HPV-Related Neoplasia: The CAP-ASCCP Lower Anogenital Squamous Terminology (LAST) Project

9:30–11:30 am
2.0 CME CREDITS

Medical Knowledge Practice-Based Learning and Improvement

The CAP Pathology and Laboratory Quality Center, in collaboration with the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP), proposed a standardized terminology for HPV-related squamous neoplasia of the lower anogenital tract. Currently, several different nomenclature systems are in use. This session will update participants on the newly released terminology revisions from the March 2012 CAP-ASCCP LAST Consensus Conference, and it will also cover the recommendations for the use of molecular markers in the identification of these lesions. Participants will take away a state-of-the art understanding of HPV-related squamous lesions of the lower anogenital tract to enhance communication with clinical colleagues regarding the diagnosis and clinical management of preneoplasia and early HPV related squamous cancers.

Note: Distribution material will be available pending the official embargo release date.
