Cytogenomic microarray testing is a relatively new technique that permits high-resolution analysis of the entire human genome in a single assay. Initially and primarily using the technique in the diagnosis of constitutional abnormalities, pathologists have increasingly adopted this methodology in the diagnosis and prognostication of a variety of malignancies. You will learn to:

Describe how the entire human genome can be evaluated for copy number and allelic imbalances
Identify the situations in which cytogenomic microarray analysis is indicated for disease classification and prognosis
Discuss sensitivity, specificity, and limitations of various array platforms
