Pathologist-performed ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (USFNA) biopsy streamlines the procedure and can increase its sensitivity and specificity. This course will demonstrate the importance of pathologist USFNA for obtaining adequate samples, discuss basic ultrasound physics, describe basic ultrasound echo patterns and their significance, demonstrate ultrasound-guided needle placement, and give tips on how to set up and practice USFNA.
