NEW  PM108  You Can Do It—Solutions for Common Problems for Laboratory Directors

Interpersonal and Communication Skills Professionalism Transformation

This highly interactive course explores how to find solutions to common and recurring issues that laboratory directors face. Faculty will place specific emphasis on problems in securing resources for the laboratory and pathology service and communicating effectively with individuals and services external to the laboratory, such as physicians and nurses. The course will address personnel issues within the laboratory, including dealing with disruptive behaviors. You will be able to analyze specific problems in an individual and collective manner as well as engage in dialogue with the faculty and fellow participants. The course will focus on resolution of specific and common problems, such as instrument acquisition, support for new programs, negotiating service issues with clinical staff, and modifying behaviors that create a hostile working environment.
