This workshop focuses on digital pathology, highlighting the work of the CAP Transformation Program Office Module 4 Emerging Technology team. This session will describe current and emerging digital pathology applications. It will provide insights from current adopters and their reasons for adoption, which vary by practice setting. Additionally, workshop leaders will describe CAP resources for digital pathology practice adoption.

TP210  Breakfast Workshop – Genomic Medicine in Pathology Practice Transformation

This workshop will focus on the fast-paced area of genomic medicine, highlighting the work of the CAP Transformation Program Office Module 4 Emerging Technology team. Pathologists have the opportunity to lead in this exciting new area of medical practice. This session will describe how genomic medicine can impact care delivery and patient outcomes, as well as the competencies and roles for pathologists in their practice of genomic medicine. Additionally, the workshop leader will discuss CAP resources for genomic practice adoption.

TP220  Breakfast Workshop – Management Tool for Professional Practice Transformation
Evaluation (OPPE/FPPE)

Preview the online quality management tool developed by pathologists for pathologists that can streamline professional practice evaluation. Loaded with AP and CP metrics and developed with input from CAP resource committees, the application offers benchmarking along with management reports designed to comply with competency and privileging requirements. The application, which will be available January 2013, demonstrates how pathologists deliver on best practices.
