AP116  Practical Approach to the Diagnosis of Soft Tissue Tumors: From Morphology to Molecular Pathology

Medical Knowledge Practice-Based Learning and Improvement

In this course you will learn about the basic histomorphologic principles for the diagnostic approach of soft tissue neoplasms. Faculty will present a practical overview of common and uncommon benign and malignant soft tissue tumors and will offer useful guidelines for distinguishing these tumors from their mimickers. Faculty will also illustrate and emphasize common potential pitfalls encountered in the diagnostic workup of soft tissue neoplasms and provide practical guidelines on the application of ancillary techniques for the diagnosis of these tumors. The presenters will emphasize the application of a practical morphologic approach and the appropriate interpretation of immunohistochemical and molecular diagnostic tests through the presentation of clinical cases in an interactive format.
