NEW  AP130  Cytopathology of Parathyroid and Adrenal Gland Lesions

Wednesday, October 16
1:00–3:00 PM
2.0 CME CREDITS

Medical Knowledge Patient Care

Parathyroid and adrenal gland lesions are relatively uncommon in routine cytopathology practice. As a result, one may fail to recognize their features when encountering these lesions. They may also be mistaken for other lesions arising from neighboring structures (eg, parathyroid for thyroid gland lesions). In this course, pathologists will learn: 1) the diagnostic criteria for recognizing parathyroid and adrenal gland lesions in cytopathology fine-needle aspiration (FNA) specimens; and 2) recognize limitations of cytopathology and thereby avoid diagnostic pitfalls.
