Association for Molecular Pathology
The Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) was founded in 1995 to provide structure and leadership to the then-emerging field of molecular diagnostics. AMP pursues topics of importance to those at the forefront of this growing discipline and endeavors to develop mechanisms for education and certification in diagnostic molecular pathology. AMP has assumed national visibility with its efforts to shape regulations and policy that influence research and the practice of molecular diagnostics. The organization is divided into the scientific subdivisions of genetics, infectious diseases, hematopathology, and solid tumors.

Association of Pathology Chairs
The Association of Pathology Chairs (APC) serves as the voice of academic Pathology. The APC exists to provide leadership and advocacy for the dynamic discipline of Pathology and to enable academic departments to meet the demands of their three missions—medical education, research, and practice. The APC provides education, training, information resources, and networking opportunities for chairs, residency program directors (through the PRODS Section), medical student educators (through the UMEDS Section), department administrators (through the PDAS Section), and graduate program coordinators (through the GMEAS Section).

Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute
Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) is a volunteer-driven, membership-supported, and nonprofit organization dedicated to developing standards and guidelines for the health care community. CLSI’s standards and guidelines are the culmination of a consensus-driven standards-development process that balances the viewpoints of industry, government, and health care professionals. These highly respected documents are used every day in laboratories around the world. CLSI signature “blue books” give laboratories dependable information and industry best practices. CLSI’s method evaluation software, StatisPro, provides evaluation, verification, and validation of performance characteristics of a laboratory test method. Pulmonary Pathology Society
The Pulmonary Pathology Society (PPS) encourages education and research in the field of pulmonary pathology and provides a forum for international pathology societies and clinical organizations focused on pulmonary medical specialties to exchange ideas and form collaborations. PPS provides several educational and scientific meetings each year. PPS membership includes practicing and research pathologists and professionals from 25 countries.
