Dr. Jared N. Schwartz Inaugurated as New CAP President

Jared N. Schwartz, MD, PhD, FCAP being inaugurated as the new CAP PresidentJared N. Schwartz, MD, PhD, FCAP, of Charlotte, N.C., was elected to serve as the 30th president of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). He was sworn into his two-year term at a ceremony held in Chicago on Sept. 29, 2007, at the College’s annual meeting, CAP ’07 – The Pathologists’ Meeting™.

“Being selected to serve as president of the College of American Pathologists is the highlight of my career,” said Dr. Schwartz. “As a member of the College for more than three decades, I have seen many changes to the profession of pathology. However, the College’s commitment to delivering the highest standards in laboratory medicine and patient care has remained steadfast. In this leadership position, I look forward to continuing to work with the dedicated members and CAP staff to embrace the new technologies facing the profession.”
