Welcome to the Future

The hectic pace of our daily lives rarely allows time for reflection about the future of our profession. And yet, we know that the future will come whether or not we’re prepared for it. That is why the CAP Foundation is hosting this remarkable conference—Futurescape of Pathology. Our conference committee has been very thoughtful in planning sessions and networking activities that will facilitate provocative dialogue about the future of our specialty.

This year’s theme: Transforming Pathology: Information as a Disruptive Technology sets the stage for a “two-way” conversation. This conference is much more than a platform to hear from industry leaders, corporate researchers, and venture capitalists’ on what they believe is the most promising technology. It is our—practicing pathologists’—opportunity to share our ideas and provide input about the evolution of pathology.

At the 2008 conference, more than 260 pathologists and industry representatives gathered to hear about the newest developments in the field of medicine and how Wall Street weighs which are most noteworthy. Those who came were enthusiastic about what they learned.

For those of you who attended last year’s conference—thank you for coming again! We value your expertise and enthusiasm.

For those who have not attended a Futurescape Conference series—welcome! This will be an enlightening and thought-provoking conference. We invite you to network with some of the most innovative minds of the specialty and business.
