Keynote Address: The Innovator’s Prescription: An Examination of the Future of Healthcare through the Lenses of Disruptive Innovation

Dr. Hwang is co-author of the “Innovator’s Prescription: A Disruptive Solution to the Healthcare Crisis,” a forthcoming book about disruptive innovation in healthcare to be published by McGraw-Hill in September 2008. His talk will describe how the problems facing healthcare are actually not unique, and the same forces that create affordability and convenience in other industries can plan a role in transforming healthcare. He explains that while politicians are consumed with how the nation can afford healthcare, the oft-overshadowed question is how we can make it affordable. He will illustrate how disruptive innovation can address this other half of the equation-reducing costs while improving the quality and accessibility of care.
