Quick tips on searching
Refining your search
To better refine your search, use the following techniques:
Requiring or excluding terms
The site search uses a simple query syntax that corresponds to Boolean operators:
|
Search operator |
Boolean equivalent |
|
Default; does not require any special symbols |
OR |
|
+ |
AND |
|
- |
NOT |
|
Phrase operator: enclose the phrase with quotation marks |
ADJ [adjacent] |
The Verity search returns results sorted with the “best” matches
listed at the top. Verity determines which results are better than others by
weighing your query terms—automatically—based on how frequently
they occur in text. More unique terms are weighted higher than more common ones.
