The Center is critical because:

• The Center will facilitate transformation by providing information that enhances the role of pathologists in delivering quality patient care - not just by providing test results.



• The Center will focus on problematic topics including the appropriate use of emerging technologies and their contribution to precision medicine and overall patient care.



• Through The Center, the CAP and pathologists are demonstrating self regulation and continuous improvement. Demonstrated effective use of testing and consistent, high level quality of results and interpretations can be used to strengthen the College’s Advocacy message.



• Self regulation further minimizes the need for government involvement in regulation of medicine.
