Education Products

Live Classroom Sessions

The Live Classroom sessions are conducted in the high-tech training center at SNOMED Terminology Solutions headquarters in Deerfield, Ill. Live courses feature experienced instructors, group interaction, user manuals, and lunch. Live courses are focused on a more experienced audience, but can accommodate attendees with entry-level knowledge who are looking to gain a better understanding of SNOMED CT content.

Self-Directed Learning

The Self-Directed Learning courses allow you to learn about SNOMED CT on your own time—anytime—and at your own pace. There’s no need to stick to a schedule. These convenient courses, which are priced lower than other SNOMED CT education products we offer, target entry-level audiences while providing a good base of knowledge for attendees with experience in other terminological or classification systems.

Web Teleconferences

STS Web teleconferences are conducted using virtual meeting software combined with a conference call. This allows attendees to interact with a live instructor via an Internet connection and a telephone. Web teleconferences target audiences with entry-level to mid-range knowledge who are looking to expand their understanding of SNOMED CT.

First-Time User Orientation—How to Register for Courses

It’s easy to participate in SNOMED Terminology Solutions education. Our Learning Management System offers online registration; payment; receipt of course materials; course notifications, certificates of completion; and tracking of your completed courses.

Step 1
Become a registered user. After you have registered, you will receive an email message within one business day verifying that your account has been activated.
Step 2
Log in with your user ID and password—from any page on www.cap.org. Then, review the online Education Course Catalog and take course. If you encounter any problems, let us help you in Step 3.
Step 3
Contact us at (800) 323-4040, ext. 7700 or (847) 832-7700, or snomedsolutions@cap.org, and we will personally register you for your SNOMED CT courses.

Education Services

We incorporate terminology best practices in all of our educational and training products, and all programs can be customized for your organization’s needs and tailored to your audience’s skill level. In addition to our online courses, we offer live, in-person training at our facility, or we can come to you for personalized, hands-on training. All education services can be delivered at any point in your organization’s clinical terminology planning and development phase.

STS has a global presence and has provided consultation and training in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
