Clinical Informatics Steering Committee

 

Charge

To optimize the clinical informatics organizational capability through strategic planning for and guidance of all clinical informatics initiatives and through liaison activities with Councils, Committees, and other groups engaged in clinical informatics-related projects, including education and advocacy.

This committee reports to the Council on Scientific Affairs. View a list of the current committee members.

Activities of Committee

  • Act as strategic advisors to the CAP regarding issues related to informatics
  • Monitor new and emerging informatics and IT issues/practices that may impact the CAP products, service, members and staff
  • Serve as interface with appropriate professional organizations (e.g., IHE, IHTSDO, HL7, ONC)
  • Review and make recommendations regarding informatics enhancements to core products and services
  • Supports the CAP Washington office and offer analysis and recommendations on health IT developments.
  • Provides technical expertise and acumen to the CAP commercial activities

Expertise or Experience

  • Interest in promoting pathology as informatics leaders, CMIOs, etc.
  • Interest in promoting excellence in informatics
