House of Delegates

The College of American Pathologists (CAP) House of Delegates (HOD) represents the voice of the membership and is your gateway to leadership. Through this mission, the HOD articulates to the Board of Governors what we believe to be the needs of our 18,000+ CAP constituents.

Your CAP, Your House, Your Voice

As the conduit for communication with CAP members at the grass-roots level, state delegates to the CAP HOD elevate member concerns and spur action on critical issues facing pathologists and the future of the specialty.

Our Vision Is One College

As One College, the CAP House of Delegates, the CAP Board of Governors and the CAP Councils and Committees function as a single unit. Each unit has a different responsibility, all working towards a common goal.

The role of the CAP HOD in One College is to Be The Customer and ensure that College policies and initiatives meet the needs of the members we represent. Our strategy for this is to:

  • convey the needs of the membership to the CAP
  • monitor the effectiveness of the CAP meeting these needs
  • provide feedback
