Katrina Collins, MD, FCAP
Dr. Collins is nominated for expanding educational outreach, strengthening professional engagement, and fostering meaningful connections across the pathology community through clear, innovative, and inclusive communication.
Her leadership is reflected in her work on the CAP New in Practice Committee, where she helps develop and disseminate practical resources focused on networking, professional visibility, and effective use of social media, translating guidance on academic promotion, digital scholarship, and leadership development into accessible tools.
Dr. Collins also works with the CAP Job Prep Boot Camp. She contributes to faculty identification and recruitment, collaborates on content updates, and supports communication strategies that connect participants with the Boot Camp’s live sessions, recorded materials, and online community.
Beyond the CAP, Dr. Collins es digital platforms and editorial leadership to broaden the reach of pathology education and professional discourse. She serves as social media editor and the CME Programs and Promotions Committee for the Indiana Association of Pathologists. She is events that promote innovation, global collaboration, and digital transformation. .
Her influence has been recognized through inclusion on The Pathologist Power List: Trailblazers of the Lab (2019) and as an ASCP 40 Under Forty honoree (2022). Through sustained, high-value communication and education, Dr. Collins elevates pathology’s visibility, strengthens professional community, and expands access to practical, credible learning—exemplifying the intent of the Outstanding Communicator Award.
Dr. Collins is an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana.
