CMS is warning CLIA-certified laboratories that some labs have received third-party solicitations that resemble bills or invoices and could be mistaken for official CLIA communications.
-
The documents are not from CMS and do not represent official CLIA fees or government notices.
What to know:
-
Official CLIA communications come from CMS or a State Survey Agency.
-
CLIA is now paperless. CMS no longer mails paper certificates or fee coupons, and certification and survey fees must be paid online.
-
Labs can check their certification status through the free QCOR CLIA Laboratory Lookup.
What laboratories should do: Make sure your lab’s email address is current with your State Survey Agency so you continue receiving official CLIA communications electronically.
