The CAP proudly announces that 2024 marks 75 successful years in Proficiency Testing/External Quality Assessment (PT/EQA). Throughout these seven and a half decades, we have embarked on a remarkable journey defined by resilience, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to transforming patients' lives. At the heart of this expedition, we celebrate the laboratory professionals, the unsung heroes, who have played an instrumental role in shaping the CAP's PT/EQA programs and revolutionizing patient care.
Today, we are proud to offer more than 700 PT/EQA programs—including innovations that helped tackle emerging viruses and diseases such as mpox, SARS-CoV-2, and Zika. As we embark on the next 75 years, let us forge ahead, continue striving for the best possible outcomes for our patients, and revel in the promise of limitless potential—together.
