The Strength of CAP Advocacy

Work with the CAP to educate lawmakers, guide decision-making, and generate support for policies critical to our practices and patients—we can’t do it without your help.

Make a Difference—Get Active with CAP Advocacy

Together, let’s work to educate lawmakers, guide decision-making, and generate support for policies critical to our practices and patients—we can’t do it without your help.

The CAP advocates for legislation and regulations that protect the pathologist’s ability to provide high-quality services in a fair, competitive environment. The CAP is the only pathologists’ organization classified as a 501(c)(6), meaning we’re unrestricted in our lobbying.

But we need YOU for impact—here’s how:

1. Join PathNET, our grassroots network

Connect with your elected officials at both the state and federal level and advocate for solutions to our practice and patient health care challenges. No one is more qualified to help guide legislators as they draft, debate, and enact health care legislation than those who deliver care to patients every day.

2. Be an influencer of public policy by contributing to PathPAC

Let’s come together and elect congressional lawmakers who will make fair and reasonable policies towards pathology. PathPAC is the only political entity that pursues the election (and reelection) of candidates for federal office who understand the value of pathology.

3. Learn about the issues that matter through Advocacy Update

Dive into the nuts and bolts of key issues for pathologists and patients—and see what the CAP is doing to help.

4. Set the Path by attending the 2025 Pathologists Leadership Summit

Proactively driving change requires the tools to make an impact. At the 2025 Pathologists Leadership Summit, April 25–28 in Washington, DC, you’ll gain the education and training you need to put those tools into action—meeting face-to-face with your legislators. Registration details coming.

5. Join or renew your CAP membership

The CAP supports pathologists by building a better future for practices and patients. We advocate on the Hill, at the state level, and with regulators to remove obstacles to quality patient care. Our strength comes from the number of pathologists we represent.
