Biomarker testing commonly includes mismatch repair (MMR) proteins, hormone receptors such as estrogen and progesterone, p53, and POLE mutation status, she said, with broader genomic profiling in some patients.
It depends on the type of test. Simpler tests, such as immunohistochemistry, use stains on tumor tissue to look for MMR proteins, hormone receptors, and p53. These tests “often do not take more than 3-5 days,” Dr. Turashvili said.
