NORTHFIELD, Ill. (September 8, 2026) — Paul Sholty joins the College of American Pathologists (CAP) as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He brings more than 30 years of financial leadership experience, including most recently serving as CFO for the American Dental Association (ADA).
Before joining the ADA, Mr. Sholty was a principal in the Financial Leadership Practice at Tatum LLC, where he advised organizations on financial strategy and organizational performance. He also served as Vice President of Finance, Information Technology, and Human Resources at the Chicago Children’s Museum.

Throughout his career, he has led enterprise-wide planning initiatives, modernized budgeting and performance measurement processes, and implemented technology solutions to support organizational decision-making. His experience also includes leadership in operations, technology, human resources, and governance, helping organizations align financial strategy with mission-driven goals.
Mr. Sholty joins the CAP as the organization continues to strengthen its position as the leading association for pathologists and a global leader in laboratory quality programs, education, advocacy, and practice resources.
