What a month! Throughout August, CAP members showed up for pathology and made their voices heard on Capitol Hill and at home.
By the numbers: More than 500 CAP members took action, sending more than 2,000 alerts to Congress and reaching more than 340 federal legislators during the August Recess Rally.
The big picture: From protecting access to care to strengthening the physician workforce and improving coverage policies, CAP members demonstrated the power of grassroots advocacy when we speak up together. And while the rally may be over, our advocacy doesn’t stop here.
We still need your voice:
-
Protect Surgical Pathology Payment: Ask the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services not to make unilateral changes to surgical pathology payments in 2027.
-
Provider Reimbursement Stability Act (H.R. 8163): Tell Congress to support legislation that would provide greater stability in physician reimbursement.
-
Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act (S. 1816/H.R. 3514): Urge Congress to take action on prior authorization reforms that will help seniors get the care they need without unnecessary delays.
-
Local Coverage Determinations (H.R. 8500): Ask Congress to support legislation that would increase stakeholder input and transparency in Medicare’s local coverage decisions and ensure timely access to care.
Take action: Click the title of one of the alerts above to send your personalized message to Congress.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the August Recess Rally. Your advocacy helped ensure that pathologists’ voices were heard across the country.
